Subject: OT: New soup recipe

Damp and dreary here today! Weather called for some homemade soup! ;-) Enjoy CM2

Chicken Chowder with Corn ( card is 3 by 5 inches)

Photobucket

~~~Changes/Comments I made. If desired you can write these on the back after printing the card.
1. I cut the recipe in half and still get two meals for DH and myself!
2. Since it is milk based I don't like to freeze it.
3. Half of the recipe uses 1 1/4 cups chicken broth but I ended up using 2 cups. So if you made the original recipe you might want to add up to another cup of broth.
4. Cut back salt for DH and only used two shakes of seasoned salt! That's not even 1/4 of a teaspoon.
5. Used 5 ounces of condensed milk instead of half and half. If you choose to make the original recipe you would need 12 ounces of the condensed milk!
Did you use condensed milk or evaporated milk? I always thought condensed milk was sweetened and evaporated milk was can milk.
Maybe it is one and the same w/o the sweetened in front of it. Just checking. DH would not like it if it were sweet. But it does sound very good. Will be saving for future use.
hugs, Diane
Diane,
You're right I was sleeping on this - I do use EVAPORATED MILK instead of the half n half! "Condensed milk is for desserts!" Yuck with bacon and onions!!!
Thanks for waking me up! LOL ;-) CM2
