Carol...I usually chop them up and freeze them...they do sell chopped up onions in the freezer section....so I decided to do my own....Marie

I used to take the onions and put them in the leg of a nylon stocking - tie between each onion. Nylon hose stretch quite a bit, so you can get a lot of onions in one leg. Then just hung them in the garage. They seemed to stay quite well through the winter.

Hope this suggestion helps and sorry I didn't see it sooner. It seems like the past two days everytime I checked the forum it was down.
