The PV290 DSK is an industrial grade, extreme resolution display for demanding and challenging tasks such as command and control, industrial CAD, engineering, molecular modeling, medical analysis, remote vehicle operation and a low-cost trainer display. It offers any power user an immersive visual gateway to increased information management and personal productivity.
The 3.9 Megapixel resolution neatly wraps around the user in a flat panel array that is 43.5 " X 11.5 " (111 X 29 cm) big.

The PV290 DSK is compatible with nearly all computing platforms including Apple Mac OS, HP, SGI, Sun and Windows/NT.

The vast screen real estate and tightly integrated screen image areas provide a brand new set of capabilities for both high density 2D as well as powerful real-time 3D visualization.

2D applications include: command and control, test data monitoring, GIS mapping, circuit design, resource management, image processing, desktop publishing, electronic media production, network management and more.

3D applications include: information model exploration, 3D product design, engineering, oil/gas reservoir interpretation and management, process plant design, architecture, and small team design collaboration. (Note: the display is not suited for active or passive stereographics)

The PV290 DSK incorporates a host of industrial grade features starting with twelve discreet visual inputs including a Main and an Aux. RGB in for each panel, plus three composite and three S-video inputs. This allows for a main multichannel computer, plus additional devices, such as networked workstations, laptops, VCR, DVD, teleconference, cable television monitoring, plus closed circuit and satellite feeds.There are also three selectable stereo audio inputs feeding a sound system built into the base of the display, strategically located for the best binaural effect.

The discreetly hidden volume control is manual rather than electronic for instant and direct adjustment. The central control cluster features main on/off switch as well as push button controls for each panel."One-Touch "manual switching of an input source on the right panel, for example, is as easy as pressing a single button.

The display base includes a 12V utility power supply for devices such as a teleconference camera, while the top of the display features a level surface for positioning the camera at any location. The back of the unit features a single umbilical cable connecting to an external control box. This leaves the workspace uncluttered and unfettered from masses of individual cables that support the many inputs and outputs running up the back of the desk to the display.
