I reckon you are barking up the wrong tree.I did not read the latest Catuity announcement as involving at this time anything other than a strategic development alliance involving the joint marketing of complementary offerings-which is a common form of business offering and like many other strategic alliances Catuity has in place with the likes of Schlumberger,Verifone and Gemplus. It could potentially in the future I guess involve some stake taking if the strategic alliance proved fruitful for both parties ,but the current announcement has nothing to do with that.
The Target delay is surely nothing to do with data mining or CRM.Whilst it would no doubt be an extremely attractive further offering ,Target would have foreseen some time ago that development of that would take some time.Major corporations like Target would not be as rash as you suggest. The delay has nothing to do with the software,as Catuity announced previously.

As for the "go slow" I suggest you read the latest edition of Card Marketing and see what is identified by one of the largest payments processors(who processes Target's card payments)as one of the 2003 growth areas for IT spending by card companies.

Mmmmm.PQ
