Date Posted: 00:17:57 01/02/03 Thu Ten says outlook looks good 20-December-2002 Ten Network Holdings (TEN) said today that the company’s ratings and revenue outlook for 2003 looked very positive after announcing that it will bring forward the payment of its interim dividend. "Ten’s television business continues to perform strongly and the Board is delighted that our shareholders are able to share in the rewards," said TEN executive chairman, Mr Nick Falloon. "The decision will also help reduce the impact of the non-payment of a dividend in the 2002 financial year, which in normal circumstances would have been paid in January 2003." The board declared a fully franked interim dividend of 6.5c per share to be paid on 28 February 2003, a month earlier than previously foreshadowed. The record date will be 14 February. Mr Falloon also indicated that declaration and payment of the final dividend payment would also be brought forward to October, and that this new timetable for both dividend payments would continue to apply in future years. "It is worth noting that during the first three weeks of the unofficial Summer ratings, TEN's audience share in our target 16-39 demographic has risen more than 10% and is also up substantially in other key demographics," Mr Falloon said. Today’s announcement follows a similar guidance earlier this month, when Mr Falloon said the company was in a strong position after reporting its best ever quarterly television result, with group revenue increasing by 16% in the quarter to $214.1 million. At 1125 AEST Ten Holdings Ltd was trading 5c or 2.36% firmer at $2.17 [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
