Insurance Australia Group Limited (IAG) today announced a new
addition to its executive team with the appointment of Mr David Issa
as Group Executive, Information Technology.

IAG Chief Executive Officer, Mr Michael Hawker said Mr Issa's role
would focus on improving the responsiveness and delivery of the
company's IT infrastructure and systems. "Information technology is a
critical function for IAG and David's appointment will enable us to
build IT infrastructure that will improve efficiencies and processes
for our people and deliver exceptional service to our customers," Mr
Hawker said.

"David is an ideal candidate for this role having worked in all areas
of IT, from mainframes and distribution processes, to the internet.

"He has extensive experience in financial services and banking,
having worked at Westpac Banking Corporation for the past 11 years
and previously at Computations Pty Ltd, Advance Bank and Chase AMP
Bank."

Most recently, David was the CEO of Qvalent, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Westpac, where he positioned Qvalent as a leader in
procure to pay financial supply chain software.

Prior to this, David set-up Westpac's online share trading business
"Wetstpac Broking" where he was responsible for managing a web based
share trading site with around 150,000 customers. He held a number of
senior positions at Westpac including Head of Technology -
Institutional Banking Group, Head of Financial Markets Technology,
and Senior Manager - Global Derivatives Systems.

"I am looking forward to welcoming David to what is already a strong
management team and taking our IT business to a new level of service
for both our customers and employees," Mr Hawker said.

David has a Bachelor of Science from the Macquarie University,
Sydney.

Insurance (New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and
Queensland), SGIO (Western Australia), SGIC (South Australia), State
Insurance and Circle (New Zealand) and ClearView Retirement
Solutions.
