Hi all,

I think that it's time that we did this. I joined the Digital Spy forum just to find out about DAB Digital Radio before I bought one. The registration process was strict and you couldn't post for 3 days AFTER you confirmed registration via your one and only email address and user name allowed. Following that lead time, you are allowed to post away to your hearts content but any whiff of anything derogatory being posted on a personal level gets that poster booted and banned. Not fool proof, but much better than the minimal control we have on this board.

All the points about Northern Lights board dying through personal attacks have already been made in the previous discussions on registration here so I won't repeat them, but, although I visit this board several times a day and post on ocassions, I for one am becoming very bored with the constant slagging off and tend not to bother even reading long threads at all where there is a hint of insult between posters. Much goes on with this board simply because there is minimal control. I for one will only post factual posts or replies because I do not want to express any validly held opinion on this board simply because I want to avoid any potential for confrontation. Hardly in the spirit of the internet and free speech is it?

Dan - can you give this some serious consideration and let us know whether it is a go'er?

Otherwise, if we don't do this, the decent people on this board will drift away, or read but not post and we will be left with the Thin Lizzy Insult Board and nothing else.
