I've not parted with any money regarding this book and have no axe to grind with anyone regarding "trades" etc. However, I've had bugger all sleep and am feeling grumpy so ...

I'm not sure I agree Davey and Phil here - personally I think it might be better to keep discussions transparent. If it's okay to heavily critisise Sykes/Gorham, or record companies, or the Vibe, or Zoom Club, or the ex-Supporters Club etc etc, then I don't see why this book and its author should be any different. Obviously we all want the book to be published and to be a great sucess. But if people part with cash and get nothing back, I can't see why they should be silenced...

Alan has had (and still has) a completely free passage to post his views here and has also had space in the RL editorial page and in the RL news page to advertise his views and promote his book.

By all means stand up for Alan - counter the views of others - give him the benefit of the doubt - cut him some slack - but I don't think that anyone should be told not to post their views here just because they don't match those of "respected members" (whatever they are).

:-)
