Wow....this is more like it..!!! things hotting up..!!! being a proverbial 'virgin'to the Rock Legend forum..must say...� LIKE IT''..!!!..
Been also at 8 vibes now and this one was the worst of the lot.....Smiley, God bless him, keeps going but the fact that the Vibe org slag off and critise the likes of Limehouse Lizzy as money grabbers is one thing but the standard of acts appearing at the vibe now are poor compared to previous years and to Limehouse...thats the other...Sure Limehouse make a living out of it..but great as they have also turned a lot more,different and younger people onto Lizzy regularly..and this i am sure has an influence on the youth coming to the vibe now. It is easy though also to knock the vibe..agree that it is more the getting together of the people..that is the most important aspect of the vibe these days..we all love/loved Phil and his music but now it seems it is just too easy for bands, unrehersed, bollocking up the songs to then just stand up and say..'hey to the greatest rocker that ever lived''...and expect to be exonerated for their short comings on stage...getting a little tiring now..!
Still we'll be back for more each year...at least in two years for the next big one..think give next year a miss..Hopefully then bands chosen will have some quality to them...
Hits and Misses from the weekend
HITS - Southbound Band / Limehouse Lizzy / yank with the guinness / Grand Slam
MISSES - Leanne Hart - sorry, great for young talent but hopelessly out of depth playing / timing and emotion.
Ditch/Hitch whatever....he had the shakes alright..Trouble boys (previbe..practice or not should have got some sort or sound check..as the Boys was a nightmare..!)
Also BIG MISS to the cretens that hurled abuse..agree with others..like it or not...shut the f@#$ up if you don't like something or go to the bar for a babysham..but get out our faces..!
