I am putting together a Softball tournament and would love to have everyone's support in playing and helping as much as they can if they can.
This is for my daughter sierra everyone knows she was born with kidney failure in January 2003. She had a kidney transplant on June 30, 2005. She has done wonderful since her transplant.
This fundraiser will go towards Sierras entry fee for the games, hotel stay, traveling expenses to get there and for all her equipment. I am planning for a big turn out for this, that way any extra money will go toward her team mates who don't have enough money to make to the games.
Games will be held in Madison, Wi July 29 - August 5 2010.
SOFTBALL GAME ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE HELD WITH THE NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION, UNTIL TEAM MISSISSIPPI LEAVES FOR THE EVENT.

I come from the Netherlands and am so much looking for a fastpitch team. I have been playing since I was 14 and played mostly firstbase because I am tall. I am pretty good at it too.
I really hope there is a team out here I have been looking for a long time. In the meantime I have been playing slowpitch but that compared with fastpitch and fastpitch rules is a little boring. LOL

The Maryland Stars will be holding tryouts for the 2008/2009 season August 10 and August 17 at Mayeski Park in Sykesville, MD.
As in years past the Stars will be fielding teams at 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U.
All Maryland Stars teams play a fall schedule (3-5 events). The Stars 18U team plays a fall showcase schedule and showcase-loaded tournament schedule in the spring and summer. The younger teams play 10-12 tournament schedule in the spring and summer and attend a national event.
Maryland Stars teams fair well at the local, regional, and national level. The Stars program hosts clinics (pitching, hitting, catching, etc) to assist the player skill development. The Stars also host program wide fundraisers to keep costs down to the players/parents.

I live 20 miles North West of Philadelphia PA. I'm looking for a Fast pitch or maybe Modified pitch team. I played from 5yrs. old to 18 yrs. old and then cried every spring thereafter! I can't find anything around. Now I admit, two kids later, I haven't played in a while. But every spring I think maybe I won't miss it as much now ten years later (at age 28)... and I'm wrong. :( So if anyone knows of a place to play that doesn't travel to heavily, or is too competitive, please let me know.

My 13 yr. old daughter had Tommy John Surgery in January. She is 6 weeks out from surgery and she is doing well with her Physical Therapy. Just wondering if anyone out there has had this surgery and how was your recovery? By the way she is not a pitcher but a short stop. She hurt her elbow in October 2007 after a year of travel ball. Do you think this injury was a result of too much playing in one season?

The Garland Girls Softball Association is going to give the women's division another try. Due to low turnout and possibly very little word of mouth communication, the summer league was cancelled. I have been offered a seat on the softball board for Garland Girls and I quickly accepted. I am very determined to get this division up and going! So now, for those of us desperately seeking to play softball in the Dallas area, here is your chance. Go to garlandgirlssoftball.com and fill out an application. I am coming to Washington on vacation to visit some family and I was looking to find a team to play for on Friday August 10th and Saturday August 11th. I am from Ohio and play for an elite select team there. We qualified this year for 14B ASA Nationals, but unfortunately were not able to go.
I am a lead off batter and am a solid hitter. I play primarily left field and am a second string 3rd basemen, but I can play anywhere in the infield and outfield.
I am coming into town on August 7th and will be available for practice all week. My team just ended our season last weekend so I am still in the groove of things.
I would prefer something near the Shoreline Area because that is where i am staying, but I am willing to make a commission of 35-45 minutes for practice and for tournament an hour or a little more.

Players who cannot make these dates and times should contact the Maryland STARS director and set up an individual tryout such that it is completed prior to the scheduled tryout dates.
All players must tryout. All roster spots are open to new and current players. Players should try to make both tryout dates. If they can only make one, please insure the STARS know in advance.
Players may register in advance by downloading this form, completing it and then bringing it with them when they attend the tryouts.
Players should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of tryouts to register and stretch/warm up. The tryouts will start promptly at the scheduled time.
Pitchers and catchers will need to stay an extra 30 minutes to tryout for these specialty positions.

Hey everyone, I live in the Tri-Cities in TN, which is made up of Kingsport, Johnson City, & Bristol. There is actually a Bristol, TN & a Bristol, VA, so I am right on the border. Basically I live at the northeast tip of TN, so I am willing to play softball anywhere in eastern TN, southeastern KY, southwestern VA, or western NC. If anyone knows of ANY fastpitch softball leagues anywhere around this area, please contact me! I am DYING to play again!
I'm 19 years old & I have been playing softball since I was 3 years old. I played for all of my school teams and I played traveling softball during the summers. I spent my school years as a catcher because we had no one else to do it, but every once in awhile I got to play outfield. Outfield is my spot, I'm little and quick and I pride myself on good outfielding skills. I have a good arm from catching & from playing outfield. My coach once said that I had "textbook" bunting, and since I'm quick I did it a lot and usually ran it out. I also usually got the green light on the basepaths not only because I'm quick but also I'm not afraid to slide and I make smart base-running decisions. As far as hitting, I struggled in my younger years until I finally took hitting lessons from a softball professional my junior year, & during my senior year I was one of the top hitters on my team. I may not be a homerun hitter but I get good hard drives and most of all I am consistent. The thing I regret most from quitting softball is that, when I finally started hitting well my senior year, I didn't have anymore softball after that so I never got to see how good I could get. When I was a senior in high school I got recruited to East Tennessee State for volleyball, so when softball season came around in the spring, I didn't try to get recruited for it. Well, when I came to college, I realized that that was a big mistake, because it took actually quitting softball to realize that it was my favorite of the two sports. Since then I have quit volleyball, and the softball coach here won't take walk-ons. So now I'm just doing nothing & hating it. I have lots of opportunities to play slowpitch softball around my area, but I'm not interested in that. I really want that hard, fast-paced game that only fastpitch softball can deliver. PLEASE HELP!

I've been in the Chattanooga, TN area for about a year and have yet to find any kind of competitive women's fastpitch league anywhere remotely close. What I have found are a lot of girls with tremendous passion for the sport who are dying to play. You are invited to attend the 10th Annual Wanaque Women’s Modified Fastpitch Softball Tournament. For the past 10 years our tournament has welcomed teams from all parts of NJ. Recreational teams with players of 18 years and older are invited to this 3-day event. The entrance fee for this Double Elimination Tournament is $300. Modified ASA rules apply and will be provided to each coach.
All games are played at the Back Beach Fields in Haskell section of Wanaque Borough. The dates for the games are Friday July 27th, Saturday July 28th, & Sunday July 29th.
Games times start as follows:
6pm on Friday
9am on Saturday and Sunday.
Each team will consist of no more than 20 players. Rosters are attached. They will need to be submitted PRIOR to the cut off date, and include copies of driver’s licenses for EACH player. NOTE: all players should bring current driver’s licenses to the tournament..
Umpires will be provided by Wanaque Women’s Softball League.

I copied this post from eteamz.com message board. It is from Gary Haning, head coach of the OC Batbusters, the reigning 18U Gold National Champions.
As many of you may or may not know, the NCAA has a proposal outstand and being reviewed that if passed would significantly limit the numbe of college exposure events held in the fall. Effectively the showcase events could be played during a 4 week period between the middle of October and the middle of November.
Not only does it reduce the timeframe but because of the limited time a college coach has to observe players at these events, they will have to pick and choose carefully which events they can attend thereby reducing the chance of seeing many of the good players out there.
Below is Gary's post and suggestions on what we (coaches, players, parents of players and other people with a vested interest in this). Gary has made it very easy to send your comments to the NCAA coaches who have a big say in the voting by listing the email addresses at his web site and the letter he wrote to them.

For those of you who wish to help us fight the shortening of the fall recruiting window for softball, I have posted on my website http://ocbatbusters.com, a letter which I wrote and a letter and much information courtesy of Rayburn Hesse.
Also there is a list of email addresses from Ron Pitzenberger of the Texas Sudden Impact who took the time to research the Conference reps.
While reading Rayburn's information I learned that since this proposal was sent to the NCAA Membership for comment, it now will need only a simple majority to pass when considered again in April. Hey, my name is Katelyn and I'm going to be 18 in november of 2007. I played boys baseball from the time I was 5 to 12. I switched to softball, and have played 18U since. I play all around, but I'm in need of some pitching work, and I'm a bit out of catching practice, but my past three our four coaches have used me as a utility player, and I've played every game for the past three years. I'm a decent batter, and I'm an aggressive baserunner; my last few coaches have let me run the bases as I see fit, so I can analyze my situation well, and I'm a good leadoff batter. I'm looking for 2007 showcases particularly on the East Coast and more toward the months of August, September, and October. We already have a few scheduled (and accepted) for the months of June and July, but would be willing to explore additional showcases for those months as well. I realize that the best showcases usually require that you have a positive history with them as a returning team, or at the very least you sign up well in advance.
I coach a very respectable 18U program in southern Virginia. My organization is committed to getting these athletes the best opportunity and maximum exposure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have had bought the wooden bats for softball & baseball. Unfortunately I meet 2 bad Chinese suppliers. That quality have some biggest problem as follows:
1) Delivery serious delay.
2) wood break points use glue to bind after cover pigments.
3) bad percent about 24% (50/210).
4) Don't any sincere intention to compensate lose.

Tryouts for the 2007 Maryland STARS Teams are scheduled as follows:
Players who cannot make these dates and times should contact the Maryland STARS director and set up an individual tryout such that it is completed prior to the scheduled tryout dates.
All players must tryout. All roster spots are open to new and current players. Players should try to make both tryout dates. If they can only make one, please insure the STARS know in advance.
Players may register in advance by downloading a registration form from the Stars web site, www.marylandstars.org/pages/current/tryouts.htm , completing it and then bringing it with them when they attend the tryouts.
Players should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of tryouts to register and stretch/warm up. The tryouts will start promptly at the scheduled time.
In conjunction with the tryouts for the Maryland Stars, the Winfield Sting Central Maryland League teams will hold tryouts. The Sting has teams at 10 and 12&under.
Pitchers and catchers will need to stay an extra 30 minutes to tryout for these specialty positions.
If weather affects tryouts (postponement), up to date information can be found at the Maryland STARS guestbook, please check it .

My name is cassi. I have played for 11years. 10 out of those 11 i was a catcher. the last year i was put on first base. I love the game and don't know what to do with my summers now. I am looking for an 18 and over or 22u in colorado. I can go as far south as Colorado springs and as far north as Greeley. The league plays one night a week double headers on mondays and tuesdays with games start at 630. Im a 19 year old...looking for a team to play with...im from the south mississippi area and is willing to drive to anywhere mississippi, south alabama, Lousiana, or the pan-handle of florida.....i play on co-ed but im not a slow pitch kind of player....i need some speed on the ball....
