I have not listened to a whole Eminem album, mainly because I am not a great fan of rap music.

Your view that Eminem 'talks too much' and does not allow listeners to 'fill in the blanks' is not actually a criticism to my mind. Too many so-called singer/songwriters these days write totally vaccous and tedious songs that mean nothing whatsoever.

Personally, I feel the best artists are those who speak from the heart. I prefer the raw and emotional subjectivity of the John Lennon's and Jimi Hendrix's to the vague and shallow meanderings of the Paul McCartney's and Britney Spears.

I like sincerity in music, summed up I suppose by the Manic Street Preachers album title "This is my truth, tell me yours".

Eminem speaks his mind despite censor, which I admire, but I still think he is in danger of being just another corporate shill.

Has he done a Pepsi commercial yet?

Everyone has their tastes, I like my music to reflect the world I live in, the world I percieve.

Bob Dylan not Craig David.
Pearl Jam not Guns and Roses.
Public Enemy not Eminem.
John Lennon not Garth Crooks.
Hendrix not Oasis.
Aretha not Britney.

Or, as the late Bill Hicks said:
"I want my rock stars dead!"
And:
"Any rich, successful artist who goes on TV to sell products to bovine America to make more money is no longer an artist, but a scum-sucking, corporate [censored]. A fevered ego tainting our collective conciousness."
