Placed on rocks by the shore
Far from where you thought you'd be
To find the course of your heart
Upon the waves, within the sea

Shore to shore kicked about
Tossed by tides, both cruel and warm
But you won't break, with all your strength
Pure in both your heart and form

And in the sand, so far away
A journey very much your own
Another rock awash at sea
Like you in search of its true home

Unpredictable ocean tides
Wash the stones from distant sands
And brought together on a quiet beach
To where the both have known they'd land

For many years, over many miles
Safe and secure on common sand
Far happier now, out of the tumuntuous sea
Because each now knowns one understands
