A reef of coral has formed under the surface, where tropical fish are abundant. The depth of the lagoon can reach around 35 feet in the center, and in some places along the side. In the depths by the lagoon wall, there are a few underwater caves and niches. Clusters of dark-coloured shelfish grow all along the sides, just above and below the surface.
