Tin Can Man

Materials: 10-11 regular-size tin cans (soup can size), one large can, two flat or rectangular cans (Spam cans, large tuna cans), pie pan or funnel, 30 aluminum can tabs (optional), metal punch (or a hammer, large nail, and block of wood), roll of thin wire, wire cutters and gloves.

Directions: Wearing gloves, use metal punch or a hammer and a large nail to make holes in appropriate places on each can. Stitch them all together with wire as follows:

Use the large can as a body.

Top the body with a regular-size can head; add a pie-pan or funnel hat.

For each leg, wire together two or three regular-size cans.

Add a flat can to bottom of each leg as a foot.

For each arm, wire two regular-size cans.

Make optional ``fingers'' by stringing together three or four aluminum can tabs for each finger. Hang from last arm can.
