A searing pain ripped into her heart at the sound of DarkStorm's howl. The pain was not that of a wolf leaving a loved one--it was a sympathy. She did not feel the love for him that he did...at least, not yet. Maybe someday she would learn to, but in the meantime she hoped that he would realize that he did not truly love her.
She knew not what to say to comfort him. She howled back across the empty lands, "Stay, DarkStorm, and think before you follow. Make sure you really love me before you come, for if you don't, it will be a mistake."
She knew from experience.
