Subject: What's the connection with Felon Marlan Deen??

I saw in the paper last week where Marlan Deen has given you some finacial help in the way of the signs. What do you owe him in return?? I realize most candidates are looking for support, but should a State's Attorney candidate look for support from Convicted FELONS??

I have known Mr. Deen through the Kiwanis Club and the Elks Lodge. He has always been very civic minded. I have worked with him on a couple of projects to benefit the less fortunate. Some time ago he told me he had some old plywood left over from his prior campaigns and offered to lend them to me for my campaign. I am aware Mr. Deen was convicted of a crime. However he appears to be living an honest decent life now. I commend him for that. I owe Mr. Deen nothing but the return of his plywood.

I am cordial with a variety of people, some have probably had brushes with the law. I judge them on how the act currently. Some good people make poor decisions and suffer as a result of it. I know I have faults as well and hope people can overlook them and see my positive attributes. I, like most of us, am not perfect.
