I am a working class woman and I am completely offended by this statement by you:
"I attended the meeting and found a number of working class people, primarily woman, supporting Ms. Brookbank. I was taken back by this because in my 29 years in criminal justice I have never seen so many people adamant about ones innocence. I was also taken back by the fact the group opened the meeting with a prayer for the victim and his family."
What you have here is a group of gossipy women who have nothing better to do with their time than to talk about others' misfortunes. As for the men who attend, I am sure the wives are bringing them along. Just because she has a lot of supporters, ALL COMPLETELY UNINFORMED AND UNITELLIGENT, is no reason to discard the trial, the verdict and the judge's sentence.
Unfortunately, for the real victim in this case, little Jack Sprague, these nuts have garnered a 'snowball effect'by spreading their lies throughout this small community. If you look deep enough you will find that there is a lot of hatred and jealously among the freedom4nancy supporters and this is their way of attacking the Spragues.
I strongly suggest you educate yourself and read the transcripts - even if you don't like Len Collins, he did the right thing! I only hope you can be trusted to do the same!!
As far as their hypocritical "prayer" for Jack - they should refrain from practicing the same type of hypocrisy you do. They should be praying that they all don't go straight to hell with Nancy. Their ridiculous "prayer" for Jack is unwanted by them; and you should realize that it is all for show - you know all about "show", don't you?

Your opinion about the freedom4nancy supportes is duley noted. However, it is your opinion, not mine. In case you are not aware I have never criticized Mr. Collins for his role in this case. These cases are very difficult. I assume he made his decisions based on what he believed was right.
In the event I get involved in this case I will read the transcripts. Until then I reserve my opinion in this matter. I assure you I will handle the matter in a fair manner based on the facts.
I don't disagree with your statement that the child is the victim in this matter.
Finally, I found the freedom4nancy supporters being predominetly woman as significant because it is unusual for woman to support one charged with child abuse.
