I have a 1998 almanac, which has the following
factoids:
Las Vegas 1994 pop = 327,000, up 70,000 from 1990.
That is a 20% growth in 4 years. Even in another 8 years
at that astonishing rate, the pop would only be up to
around 500,000.
In the 1992 list of M.A.s over 1 million, Las Vegas is
not listed.
The population of all of Nevada in 1990 was only
1.2 million.

It is a moot point, because I di include the city in the
list of points for my Voronoi diagram. Its certainly
the major city in that region.
