] Date Posted: 07:17:47 11/04/04 Thu I am the grandson of W/O J J Baker (service no 14574). Jack's story was first refered to in "Wings" Vol 24 no2 of the winter 1972. It is all true as I have recently seen the B&W photos of the Japanese attacks on the Australian defences. As a youg lad uncle J.J Baker was withdrawn about his service history. Very little was spoken alas all to late. He went on to work with his younger brother Sid Baker at the Baker Motor Body Works in Geelong Vic building car bodies for Ford Motor Company. My research has his full service history - enlisted 22.4.40 and discharged 1.11.45. Armament School, 452 Sqn, HQ NW Area, 80 Wing are some of the entries including Mention in Despathes for training of all guards of No80 (Fighter) Wing [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
