Subject: DVA - Friend or Foe

With my ongoing struggle with PTSD, and all the other hardships associated with it, I find it hard to believe how DVA can be so difficult to work with, eg. my first psych report stated all the facts I qualified for a DVA disability pension, but some civvi at DVA overruled it saying that I still didn't!

My understanding is that DVA are there to help us Vets, the same Vets who did/do the dirty jobs for the politicians.

I here of so many Vets in need of help, but are not strong enough to fight DVA or just get sick of the bullshit run-around from DVA.

I encourage all Vets in need of help not to surrender; we now have another enemy to fight. We will once again look out for each other, help each other, and be there for each other. We are all brothers, a term that civvies can’t truly understand.

Help is out there.

Cheers Rat

I enlisted the services of the RSL with my DVA claim, and also joined the Armed Forces Federation and got the services of a lawyer down in melbourne. after a looooooooong struggle, pshycologists and physicatrists (big words -did i spell them correctly?) i managed to get TPI. Mind you it took a couple to three years of a continueous working at the coal face with this help.

With my claim through vet affairs i was
assisted by Merv Reid. and although it took time I was eventually back paid from date of first notification.

I would recommend all to contact the R S L advocate in your area

Cheers
Nigel
