Subject: Kia Sportage Wiring Harness

We did own a 2000 Kia Sportage EX. Minor problems were the material pealed off of the steering wheel, rubber molding around the doors constantly tore, squeeling fan belt. The major problem was with the wiring harness. The pins and the pin holders would become loose and then the check engine light would come on. It was repaired (not replaced) three times while still under the original warantee. After the 36000 mile warantee went out the purchased extended warantee would not cover it. They claimed it was not a broken part. Talked with my local dealer and he said he would have the district service supervisor talk to me. That never happened. We finally had enough and got rid of the piece of junk. I will never buy another KIA. I know the old saying is "you get what you pay for" but we did not.
