I am writing to express my concern and disgust at the attitude taken by some members of the clergy towards ex-Servicemen (such as myself) who are survivors of the atrocities seen and experienced during the Great War.
My recent experience at an inauguration ceremony (on Remembrance Sunday no less!) at Glasgow University Chapel where a so called “man of god” attempted to impute my good name by making wild accusations is a case in point. He was only shown for a trickster and charlatan thanks to the diligent attentions of acquaintances in the congregation and the auspices of the Constabulary of the city.
I suspect that his slanderous activities are not an isolated event but are in fact merely an example of a far more widespread and coordinated nefarious undertaking by parties who shall remain nameless – although they will know to whom I am referring – to undermine the true spirit of this Great Nation.
Such deplorable behaviour and despicable conspiracies shall not be tolerated by all true Englishmen – you have been warned.
