The Sabbath is a day of Rest. The earth and all that was in it was made in six days, and on the seventh day the Father rested. He set apart the seventh day for rest.
Is the seventh day physical or is it Spiritual? The Father is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
There is a physical day of rest. That day is the day or 1000 year day of our very life. In this day or in our life time we must rest in the Word of the Father, and abide in the Father's Spirit and rest in the blood of His Son that died for us.
Put your cares or burdens on the Father, He will bear them. This is resting in the trust that we have for our Father.
The Redeemer, the Son of the Father is our eternal Rest. In the day that the Redeemer returns will be the seventh day or the 7000th day in accordance with the fact that 1000 years is a day with the Father.
When the Redeemer returns we will Rest eternally from the war of satan against man, the Father and His Son. We won't have to war any more. All those who are and were our adversaries against the Word of the Father, the Father and His Son, and against us who serve, obey and trust in Him, will be thrown into the lake of fire.
True Rest is not just a day, for we know that whether it be Monday, Sunday, Saturday, Friday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, we are not worried for we trust in our Father and His Son, and we abide in the Father's Spirit, no matter what we are going through, or what satan and his demons or those people he uses are persecuting us with. In this trust of the Father and His Son, we rest, knowing that the Father and His Son are with us through the flood(lies of satan) and in the fire(testing. The Father will not forsake us. He will be with us to the end.
Those of us who serve, love and obey the Father and His Son Rest in them continually. We trust and rest in His promises, in the fact that the blood of the Redeemer has and will continually wash us from our sins through repentence and trust, and that through this we have our prayers answered according to His will. We trust and Rest in the Redeemer and the Father whether we are in a congregation of other beleivers or whether we are home, or in our car, or at work. Whereever we are, and no matter what day it is we love, serve, obey, trust, and rest knowing that He will hear us, protect us, guide us, forgive us, and will fulfill all the promises that He stated in His Word and through His Spirit.
If Rest is trust in this day that we live, and eternal Rest is knowing that the Redeemer will return and destroy our enemies and receive us to Himself, then Rest is Spiritual, and not physical as some of those who have not the Spirit of the Father have led many to believe.
