Subject: Geldof view of Iraq situation?

Hi,

Just found this site/board. I was actually the first American reporter to interview Bob around 1978. I remember he had an enlightened opinion of America's position in world politics back then. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything regarding his position about the latest American/British position in regards to Iraq? I know he used to agree with the USA taking a proactive position with world problems but I'm also aware how he feels about peace, so I'll find it interesting to see how he feels about this one.

I read something on the net somewhere that he was one of a number of stars who signed a petition from the Stop the War Coalition. Haven't heard any comments though. I think this answers the question in itself.

Thanks for your post Jules. But I don't know, net petitions and other postings are often 'tampered with' and really can't be relied on, so I don't think that answers it yet. Unless he has changed his ways from the beginning of his career to now, I'd bet he backs the US and British initiative.

Still love to hear something concrete though.

Not necessarily, it doesn't mean to say he agrees with war! I couldn't say for sure. The article I spotted was a news a item about the war protests etc if that helps at all. He's keeping his mouth firmly shut, I wish he'd say something..

Have you signed up for the forum yet. There's only a few of us who are saying anything much in there at the moment. We need some more input. Ask you question in there, see what people think there, there maybe someone who knows even!
