I always knew from watching Bob Geldof in interviews that he`s a bit of a pretentious, flash git, always trying to give the impression that he`s a well-read intellectual, using "big words" when a shorter, more commonly used term would suffice. However, he`s always seemed a bit self conscious about it and he recently put his foot in it on the tv show Grumpy Old Men with his use of the (non-)word "physionomy" ! LOL He should have said anatomy, of course, but that wasn`t good enough for Sir Bob the Pretentious. Oh no! He was obviously confused between the words physiology and physiognomy, neither of which would have been correct in the context of what he was talking about, anyway. He doesn`t even have the excuse of saying it was a slip of the tongue, because the programme was recorded, so he had plenty of time to correct himself and do a re-take. The phoney old git! :¬)
