Epilogue
Ayesha and Blake walked to the front hand in hand and stood on opposite sides of the alter and blew kisses at each other which made the congregation giggle. Next came Nelly and Chelle, Chelle acted as if she was at practice because this scene would be all too real for her in a matter of months. Then came Clara and Omari, she wobbled down the aisle as Omari supported her. Then the congregation stood up as they played “here comes the bride” as Aashene walked out in a beautiful flowing white gown, and met her man, Jerome at the alter. They exchanged vows and the preacher pronounced them husband and wife before they engaged in a kiss that had the room letting out oohhs and ahhhs.
Latter on at the reception it was time for Aashene to throw the bouquet of flowers.
Aashene- (smiling) everybody ready?
Ladies- yeah
Aashene threw it and Kaylonie caught it but she threw it to Chelle.
Chelle- it’s too late for this (throws it to a girl standing next to her)
They laugh.
Kaylonie- come on let’s sit down, that game is dangerous.
Blake- (comes up behind her and wraps his arms around her waist) what do you mean it’s dangerous?
Kaylonie- marriage …it’s contagious and dangerous
Blake- well maybe I should take my big ol 5-karat diamond engagement ring back
Kaylonie- I said marriage was dangerous …I ain’t nothing about this ring (holds her hand out to look at it)
Chelle- yall off the chain …Kaylonie I never thought you’d be engaged
Kaylonie- shoot me either
Blake- she knows she wanted me the moment she saw me grubin on that burger in Carl Jr.
They all laugh.
Kaylonie- this man is so full of himself
Blake- you made me this way …but I still love you
Aashene- yall shut up …this is my day
They all laugh.
Chelle- girl the wedding is beautiful
Aashene- (smiles) thanks
Nelly and Jerome walk up.
Nelly- what are yall over here gossiping about
Kaylonie- none of yo business (thinks of something) ay Chelle …since our weddings are only months apart maybe we can have our bachelorette party together
Blake/Nelly- what?
Blake- who said yall were having a bachelorette party
Kaylonie- every one has one (notices Clara wasn’t paying them any attention while she was talking to Omari) C didn’t you have a bachelorette party?
Omari- No!
Chelle- she didn’t ask you
Clara- (laughs) naw
Kaylonie- oh well Aashene did
Aashene- (rolls her eyes at Romeo) you call those magicians a bachelorette party?
Romeo- (laughs) I think it was nice
Aashene- I think it was dirty how you canceled my strippers and had them rabbit pulling idiots come
They all laugh.
Romeo- don’t get mad over spilled milk …it’s too late considering you’re not a bachelorette anymore
Aashene- (grinning) I know (gets up to hug him)
Clara- uuhhh call the fire department so somebody can put them out
Kaylonie- unt un C …I know you ain’t talking …as mushy as you were at your wedding
Clara- (laughs) Omari rubbed his mushiness off on me
Kaylonie- (looking at her big belly) that ain’t all he rubbed off on you
Everybody busts out laughing.
Blake- C when’s your due date
Clara- in 2 months Nov. 12th …can you believe that?
Omari- (smiling) yep he’s gonna be an Omari Jr. for real
Clara looks at him like he’s crazy.
Aashene- see …I wanna wait a while like C and O before I get pregnant …how long did you guys wait?
Omari- let me think …we waited about 3 years after we got married
Chelle- yeah that’s good timing
Kaylonie- shoot …imma wait 10 years
Everybody busts out laughing.
Blake- you may wait ten years but I’m not …you know you want kids
Kaylonie- Blake …I cannot ruin this great figure on some bad behind kids
They all laugh.
Nelly- oh snap …they playin our song …Midwest Swing
Chelle- awww look at Murphy Lee teaching Brittany the dance …they are so cute together
Kaylonie- yeah they are …they make a nice couple (looks at Clara who’s making googly eyes with Omari)
Jerome- well I feel like dancing …come on baby …let’s go show them how it’s done
Aashene- (looks back at everyone else) holla! (Walks off with her man)
They all laugh.
Kaylonie- those two are too cute.
Blake- everybody is too cute to you
Kaylonie- (smiles) like you
Blake- not as cute as you though
Clara- awww somebody pull out the violins
Kaylonie- Clara you have just became a lil comedian since you got pregnant
Clara- naw I got that from Omari too
Nelly- yall make marriage seem like a beautiful thing, I want me and Chelle to be like that
Omari- yep …4 years of marriage and everyday I see her it seems like the first time
All- awww
They all laugh.
After the reception everyone said bye and waved as Romeo and Aashene rode off to their honeymoon in Paris.
Omari and Clara stood outside the church and watched some kids playing at a playground across the street.
Omari- I can’t wait until our little boy is out there terrorizing the playground
Clara- (laughs) why he gotta be terrorizing stuff
Omari- (laughs) cuz he’s my son
Just then Clara sees Olamide walking into the park with a lil boy.
Clara- oh my gosh …did you just see that?
Omari- yeah …you wanna go over and say hi?
Clara- sure
They walked across the street to the park and approached Olamide.
Olamide noticed them as they were walking up.
Olamide- Clara?
Clara- hey Olamide
Olamide- dang …I didn’t notice you with that beach ball under your dress
Clara- (smiles) Olamide I don’t think you’ve met my husband …Omari this is Olamide …Olamide this is my husband Omari
They shake hands.
Olamide- nice to meet you
Omari- you too, I think we saw each other in Europe though
Olamide- yeah …you’re that group Universal Lovers right?
Omari- yeah …that’s me
Clara- well who is your lil man here?
Olamide- oh …this is Olamide Jr. …say hi lil Lami
Lil Lami- hi
Clara- (smiles) hey lil man …how are you doing?
Lil Lami- I’m fine
Olamide- so you know what you’re having yet?
Clara- (looks at him serious) Olamide I’m not pregnant
He looks at her then her stomach and his eyes widen.
Omari and Clara bust out laughing.
Omari- she was just playing
Olamide- oh …woo …I almost stuck my foot in my mouth
Clara- yeah that was funny …but I’m having a little boy …I heard John and his fiancé had a little girl
Olamide- yeah, her name is Cameeria
Just then a tall light skinned lady with short blond hair walked up.
Lady- ay where have you guys been?
Olamide- I was here talking, baby this is Clara and Omari, yall this is my wife, Khyma (ky-ma)
Clara- (extends her hand) nice to meet you, your little boy is adorable
Khyma- (shakes her hand) thanks (rubs her stomach) oh you are too cute …do you know what you’re having?
Clara- yeah …a little boy, he’s gonna be a junior
Khyma- oh my gosh …they’ll be two little big headed boys with funny names terrorizing the playgrounds of Cali
Omari- yeah I was just telling her that
Clara- well Khyma it was nice meeting you and you too Lil Lami …and Olamide it was nice seeing you again …but I really need to get off my feet
Khyma- I know what you mean …it was nice meeting you too Clara and Omari …maybe we’ll see each other around
Clara- (smiles) maybe
Olamide- goodbye
Clara smiles and walks off with Omari.
When they were inside their limo they started to talk.
Clara- I’m happy everything turned out good for everyone …because a couple years ago everyone was going through a whole bunch of mess …I got a postcard from Fizz yesterday, him and his wife had a baby girl, she is so adorable …I have to show you the picture
Omari- (laughs) you are always so happy for everyone
Clara- well …it makes me happy to see other people happy
Omari- yeah I know what you mean, it makes me happy to see you happy
Clara- and being with you makes me happy
They laugh.
Omari- did you ever think 5 years ago when you walked in on me snooping through your office that you’d be Mrs. Omari Grandberry?
Clara- naw (laughs) because I didn’t know your whole name then
They laugh.
Clara- when did you know you wanted me to be Mrs. Omari Grandberry?
Omari- I never thought about it …but it had to be when you charged me into that wall back at my apartment
Clara- (laughs) I knew that was the right move to make
Omari- naw …I’m just irresistible
Clara- so that means a lot of women charged you like that, what made me so special?
Omari- I don’t know (starts to sing) it’s sumthin about you baby, that makes me want to give it to you
Clara laughs.
Omari- Clara I feel in love with you when you charged me on that wall because you were real, your love was sincere …you didn’t front
Clara- and Omari …I fell in love with you when you walked out of that bathroom naked …lord have mercy
Omari- (laughs) Clara …gosh …you’re so degrading to me …first you made me give it up on the first date …now this
Clara- (laughs) even though you’re easy …I still love you
Omari- and I love you …and I will forever
Clara- you better …you got me walking around with this big stomach
They both laugh.
