Subject: China heats up

China believes they've got the world by the tail, and they are out to prove it. They've essentially ordered Boeing and the other companies involved in the arms sale to Taiwan to not do it, else China will hit them with sanctions.

Approval of the US govt means nothing, nor does the concessions made (no F-16's for one thing) nor anything else, follow our orders regarding a third party or face the consequences! Wars have started over quite a bit less.

The Chinese have also started building ports for their Navy ships to fuel at and pull into for repairs, two of them are in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. With the collapse of the Tamil Tigers, the US lost all influence in that region and China reaped all the benefits, as China was active in supporting the government that wiped out the Tigers.

China has also claimed all the islands in the South China Sea, thereby getting protests from Vietnam, Malaysia, etc.

Chinese protests have caused Obama to put off meeting with the Dali Lama last year, and are having a fit about his planned meeting in April. Since the China based Internet attacks on US companies and the govt, plus the above, he's just not trying to keep them happy any more. The game of brinksmanship is ON!

And one of the most popular books in China last year, perhaps the most popular, was "Unhappy China", a very nationalistic book that blames all China's problems on the greedy overbearing West.

I really doubt China is going to be selling us cheap tshirts in ten years. More likely we'll be at war. These are precisely the sorts of things that preceded WWII.
