I have been horribly busy lately, but I know what you mean.

However, what we are seeing today is part of a cycle that takes place over several generations. As the WWII/great depression generation that saw and experienced the horrors of total war and unrestrained greed dies off, the temptation of "loosen the restraints, a LITTLE more won't matter" comes to the fore. And eventually destruction results.

Nothing we see today is dissimilar to the things that went on in the late 20's through the great depression.

Porn? Hah, one in five women were in sex work during that era in the USA.

Corruption? Just google Roosevelt and corruption, the faux scandals they kept trying to stick to Roosevelt will remind you of Clinton in a heartbeat. Generally, they were all about personal life.

Speaking of corruption, there was more corruption in that era than you can easily imagine.

Bailouts? Largest single bill in US history was the US bailout for Europe that tried to hold European banking together and prevent national defaults.

It's a cycle that happens every four generations, and that's the way it is.

Our next supercrisis is coming fast, because we won't do anything to prevent it, even if it's perfectly foreseen to be coming. After all, if it was prevented, that would mean SOMEONE would get political points, and the other side (whoever they are at that time) can't allow that, damn the good of the nation.

So hunker down and get ready, the equivalent of WWII is right around the bend.
