Sunday, March 20
Time 5:20.20 p.m.

It is .845 miles from the crossroads to Temple House (or 4461.6 ft. - the 71.3 ft., they have already come, or 4390.3 ft.)

Time 5:20.55
After some 35 seconds of desultory conversation, Kevin gets into the car, and they are off. Now traveling at 88 ft. per sec.

Time 5:21.45
They have come 4400 ft. or 4471.30 ft. west of the crossroads and 9.7 ft. west of the entrance gate to Temple House, and Lady Sylvia clips the gate on the way in. No, she is a better driver then that.

The sensible thing for Kevin to have done was to by-pass the car and continue walking. It would have taken him 25 minutes to walk to Temple House (or 5:45.20 p.m.), and as it was one mile to Crowden-in-Longendale (or Longdendale Youth Hostel), it would have taken him thirty minutes to walk it (or 6:15.20 p.m.) or one minute and twenty seconds past sunset. But, when has a teenage male, ever done what is sensible, especially when it comes to a beautiful woman like Lady Sylvia.

The times also point to this happening on Sunday, March 20 and not Saturday, March 19. If it had happened on Saturday, March 19 . . .

Kevin gets up.
Sunrise 6:02 a.m.

Shower. Dress. A quick breakfast. There is nothing else to keep him in town, let us say 73 minutes, and he is on the road at . . .
7:15 a.m.

As it would take him no longer to get to Temple House on a Saturday, then on a Sunday, he arrives at . . .
11:21.45 a.m.

And we would have to account for the six hours, fifty-two minutes, and fifteen seconds, between his arrival and Lord James arrival at Temple House. Which means this most likely happened on a Sunday, with its lesser time differential.

To be continued . . .
