What we can also guess about the character.

He reads Star Trek novels, since Star Trek is associated with nerds, the anorak.

He resided in Sheffield. As an American, I don't know whether the residents of Sheffield have a distinctive accent, and if they do, whether he has that accent, but, as I have said previously, Sheffield is the most likely place for him to have left from to get where he is in the film.

He is the only child of a widowed mother, who is a charwoman. If he doesn't have a Sheffield accent, than his Mum or Mom is more likely a widow than married. (As I can't see her being divorced.) As a widow is more likely to move back to an area, when she once lived, than a married woman.

Next time "Kevin's Little Girlfriend," but first, next week "Tilda Swinton."
