I just noticed, that in that film clip from "Lair of the White Worm," while Kevin the Scout (Pitt) uses the word neither correctly, he puts the emphasis on the first "E" in the word.

Meanwhile, we Americans, when we use the word correctly, usually put the emphasis on the "I" in the word.

Mayhaps, Laura or someone else can tell us, whether Kevin the Scout's pronounciation of the word is the typical pronounciation of the lower class English male.

Not, of course, that Laura knows anything about the lower class English male. LOL!
