Subject: death is worse than child porn

'What’s worse than child porn? I can think of one thing that, if we want to use the mentality of those who crusade against kiddy porn and even naked pictures of children, is many times more damaging and should be considered illegal.

Pics of dead bodies. Any Christian person would agree with me that human life is a sacred gift from God. It is the one thing that when taken away can never be returned. Death is it, bam, gone, ain’t commin’ back no more no more. Then Isn’t viewing a dead body much more atrocious than two kids having consensual sex? I mean think about it in the backwards moral
equivalency that the thought police and Christian crusaders use to condemn KP and naturist photos. Unlike a boy, the dead
body has no rights whatsoever and no possible way to defend its privacy, yet almost everyday in the newspaper there is a
picture of some crime scene or auto accident. And what about those mid-East war pics that show children laying dead in the
sand? Heck, half the time the dead children are naked!

We want to protect the most helpless among us and we want to preserve the “innocence” of our kids by sheltering them from
things they cannot possibly understand, like sex and death. If little Timmy sees a pic of a boy his age engaged in coitus with a man his father’s age we scream like we’ve just looked into the face of hell. We hold him and hug him and tell him that his childhood has just been robbed from him. But we see a news story about a famine where whole families have been left to starve and decay and we simply shake our heads and tell him to eat is peas. In fact we even want to wage war to produce more pictures of dead bodies. We want to invade Iraq to kill the godless, Muslim dictator, and we teach little Timmy that in some cases killing is good. It’s what Jesus wants. Is this not backwards? Is this not disgusting? Isn’t there a moral relevance that we are overlooking? In fact, aren’t we celebrating the greater evil?

Now I’m not sure what should be done to punish those who look at pictures of dead bodies, but shouldn’t there be a multi-tiered system of punishment? Depending on the offense it could range from 18 months to life in prison. Those low-level
offenders who just cut clippings out of Sunday news papers, or have recordings of News @ 11 shouldn’t have their lives
destroyed. I think they could be helped with a fine of say $5000 and 12 weeks in a pre-release program where they can get counseling for their “sickness”. Of course when they get out they must register as low-level offenders and inform their neighbors that they have been looking at pictures of dead bodies. They are not allowed to possess a National Geographic or go within 50 feet of a newsstand for the rest of their lives. Maybe the real sickos, those who actually go out to a crime scene or a war zone and film dead bodies should be locked away for good. Obviously no help can come to these people. And should they try to sell any of their photos we tack on 40 more years.

That sounds about right. I’m just trying to look at this in a moral and Christian perspective. I only have the interest of our innocent, helpless, asexual children at heart. At least the kids giving each other blowjobs on the Hi-8 video are laughing and smiling. The dead Palestinian boy isn’t smiling, unless his Muslim, godless body has been forgotten in the sun long enough for his lips to shrink into a sardonic grin. He’s a husk that is stiffening and starting to smell. He probably would have become a suicide-bomber anyway. But no -- he’s just dead and Timmy can look at that all he wants. It could have been worse. Timmy could have stumbled onto his uncle’s video (circa 1971) of preteen soccer boys “playing” in the shower.'
