Subject: I never said that.... [long rant]

The Muta rush is a perfectly valid strategy in the game. I simply found it a touch bland for my tastes. Oh don't get me wrong, I used 'em more than once, but typically I preferred a more devious route. I have little mind for strategy, but I'm very good with tactics.

Muta rushes don't utilize tactics. It's a point, click, kill. Sure, I lost alot of games because I focused too much on micromanagement, but I had fun. I think the most fun I ever had was a 4 way FFA on one of 'dem huge maps. Lasted 4 hours, (this was with friends last year in the hall). The last hour it was down to me and another guy. What a fight...I lost, but I tell ya, I'd lose a game like that anyday.

My point is that I tried to avoid using the same tactic over and over. Similarly, I tried to avoid tactics that everyone else used. I remember a game I went all-out Arbiters. It was all I had. I actually did pretty well. 24 Arbiters casting Stasis Feild can immobilize ALOT of troops, leaving buildings as sitting ducks. What's fun is casting Stasis on drones. Doesn't kill 'em, but when it wears off, drone just sit there, not harvesting. If you're lucky, they'll continue to sit there for a long time before your opponent realizes it.

I just think that people find the one or two "best" strategies...or the first ones to prove to make winning easy, and then everyone follows them. The same holds true to Diablo. Alot of Necro's use Bone Spirit at ungodly levels. I suppose I could too, but why? It's much more fun to have an army of minions. I get a kick out of watching my little skeletons walk up to these hulking brutes, and then WIN. Sure, my Necro probably dies alot more than other Necro's. Watch me care. ::cares:: It's not about winning, it's about fun. For me, anyway...if it ever becomes about winning, take my advice, remove the CD from your computer, snap it in half, (be careful, I did this once and a little sharp flew into my mouth...hmm...should that be an Olympic event? CD Snapping....points awarded for how close you get it to halves, and how far the tiny shards fly. Extra points for casualties inflicted.) and go outside. Don't worry, that glare in your eyes is the sun.

As for D2, I have no time for duels with hacked characters. Soon as anyone goes hostile towards me in a game, I leave it. I don't leave so many games as you might think. I just don't join games labelled "DUELS" and it's all good. Maybe if this network ever clears I'll look into playing something on a Realm, but ya never know. I'm looking forward to the new classes. Fresh blood. I personally am looking forward to the Druid. From what I've seen, he likes summoning spells too, 'cept he pulls animals into the fray. Druid vs. Summon Necro. Should be an interesting matchup to watch.

Anyway...I just wanted to rant and rave, and defend my actions as one who tries to find the most obscure and underused path to victory. Next, I plan on creating a Lightning Sorceress...just to prove that it can be done. Ta-ta!

Ooh, funny story! One of the kids I was working with recently spelled genious as "jeanyes" I LOVE kids!
