If you'll look down at the bottom of one of my messages, you see I make brief mention of a "strength/weakness" of mine. I can get very passionate about things very quickly. Sometimes this is a good thing. Most of the time, it's not. You get one guess as to which one of those this little example is. You see, when something like this crops up, I love to get into it. I love the thrill of a debate. Drake, you yourself praised it on many occasions when it suited your purpose against TC. I suppose the power to debate is like any other dark power...use it too much... Unfortunately, as with TC, I get myself in over my head, and end up saying things that pretty near everyone regrets.

Marx, we got off on the wrong foot. But please, try and look at it from my point of view, ok? I've seen you once, maybe twice before you started posting. The first thing you start talking about is rules for age limits (which will alienate about half the people you've got here), a name change of the clan (which alienates just about everyone), and a post entitled "Campaign Speach." You really do have to admit that for someone who wasn't told by Drake, "Oh yea, Marx is back and since you're gone I thought I'd invite him back." this looks like a bid for power. To me, it came across as something like "I'm back, and I want to be in changre, and I want this and this and this to be done." Ok, that's how you came off to me.

Then I simply say that I'll be around in case anyone wants advise on something, and I get called power hungry. Well, I already told you, yea, I'm power hungry. I like being in control, blah blah blah...I've said all that.

As background info, I've been REALLY stressed out lately. If you read down a ways, you'll see I really snapped off the heads of Anthrax and Omnivich for giving me a hard time about pledging Alpha Phi Omega. I have recieved presious little support from that decision, and as a result, I'm extremely touchy.

Now, since it's only fair, I'll look at this sitauation from your point of view. You come back here in good nature, and everyone and thier dog attempts to bite your head off for no real reason. I come off as an arrogant, power hungry prick with a knack for insult woven into legitimate arguements.

Marx, I'm willing to give you a second chance if you'll be willing to give me a second chance. We got the wrong first impressions of one another. I try not judge people by my first impression of them. I usually do anyway, which annoys me to no end, but hey...I never claimed to be anything but human.

Still though, I disagree with you one 2 major points:

1) Age Rule: I still say you "X" this one, bud. Simply because there is no way to enforce it. I could create a new name, claim to be a 92 year old man, and you would have no way of knowing it. I could also say I'm a 4 year old prodigy. What you want is a maturity rule. Any 15 year old can pose as a 17 year old over the internet.

When you left, I don't think there was any time limit for how long a person had to be a REC. When you left, a time limit had been enforced. You had to be a REC for at least a week. I think that is PLENTY of time. In the course of a week, you can get a pretty good read on the guy. If he constantly complains about being a REC, or is a jerk...well, he's still not technically a member of the clan, and no housemasters HAVE to accept him into their houses. Personally, I think this is a much more effective means by which to weed out the pubescant 12-year olds. Some will get through, of course...they always do. But that's a fact of clan life. There are always more idiots out there. Battle.net averag IQ is REALLY low, so beware.

(As an aside, this would require a little more effort on the part of the Housemasters. They should know something about the REC's, and not just take any who ask to join their House.)

2) Name change. Sorry bud, I just can't go by anything but SH. What can I say? The name has grown on me. Ever since TC broke away we've said "SH will live again, SH will live again, don't you worry, it'll be back and better than ever."

I don't want a clan exactly like SH, I want SH. Clan BrimStone...aside from the fact that the most obvious 2-letter version is BS...not a bad name. It's just that those of us here have been through all this under the flag of "Safe Haven" that I'm just finding it really hard to give up that flag. I've spoken with a few others, and they agree.

Now, these arguements are NOT against you personally. I simply disagree with you on those two points. Do you make a good leader? I don't know. I've never seen you lead. Is that my fault? No. Is that your fault? No. That's just what happened. Drake says you were a good leader, so I suppose that's what I have to go on. I'm a good leader too, but I don't have the time.

Now, the disagree ment over clan name is, in reality, kinda trivial. I suggest we put it to a vote, majority rules, 'cause I'm not thinkin' that either you or me really wants to go back on this. At the very least, can we name a house after the clan name that wasn't chosen?

Just understand where I'm coming from, and help me to understand where you're coming from, and maybe we can meet in the middle somewhere. To tell ya the truth, we need as many people in this crazy thing as we can get, and if we can iron out our differences then maybe we can help each other help the clan.
