Following essay extracted from "Emrys: The Humble Wisdom Therein"

I've been reading some recent posts (apparantly there seems to be a lot that I've missed), but I do have a few comments. Like I said, I haven't read all the posts, so if I say something that's not quite right, understand that I'm speaking without all the information.
First of all, as to the age limit issue, I agree with Phule. There is absolutely no way to know how old a player is, so enforcing an age rule is impossible. Everyone on the internet is anonymous. We do want to keep the less mature away, but you really can't tell how mature a person is until you talk to them for awhile. You can't really go on a first impression, because they might be really cool people who are just having a bad day (and we all have our bad days).
As far as the clan name issue goes, this may have already been resolved, but if not I'd cast my vote for Safe Haven. While I may have not been around to see the downfall of SH, I've been here to see the struggles that others have gone through to see its rebirth, and it's only right that SH lives again.
The last issue I want to talk about (it has to be the last cause I have class soon) is recruitment. Most of the ideas I've read have been pretty good, but when it comes down to it I feel that the one week as a REC is the best way to go. Again, if you base recruitment on try outs, you really can't acurately judge the character of a person by monitoring a single game or talking to the for half an hour. It takes time to get to know how a person responds and if their character is compatible with what SH wants to become. Over the course of a week on the internet, there is ample opportunity to observe how a person reacts to various situations, and a character judgement can more easily be made.
Well, that's all the humble wisdom I can impart for now... math class beckons...
If anyone would like to quickly post the status of things as they are now, that would be helpful.
