Subject: One of three worst e-mails

I can relate to the e-mail that Cally referenced. Last year as chair of a scholarship committee for a professional organization I belong to, I received an e-mail from the President of the chapter. In the e-mail was a statement that was false and reprimanded me for something that I did not do. I replied with what I believed was a fair assessment of the situation directly back to this person without any copies or carbon copies of the e-mail being sent to anyone. I assumed the exchange was on a one-on-one basis. The President, however felt she should embarras me by further comments and copied the entire board of the organization in her reply. This was totally unwarranted, and very unprofessional of her since this organization is supposed to promote cooperation and the support of other professionals in the group. This was a good experience for me to learn that anyone at any time can be exposed and privy to whatever you communicate in an e-mail if someone wants to forward your replies to another person.
