Anytime you give a speech in front of people that you don't know, and they don't know you, it seems whether you like it or not there's going to be some pressure involved. The important thing to remember, (as pointed out in our class last night)is that it's "perceived" pressure. Meaning that the only pressure involved is that which the speaker brings on him/herself.
The thing I've found that works for me in a pressure situation is to take a deep, cleansing breath. This usually has a calming relaxing effect.
