The first thing that comes to mind is siting in class last Thursday. It's not very often that you are asked to think about, prepare, present and be graded on a speech all in a 2 hour time frame. (At least not in my daily life!) After getting through the thinking and prepareing part, all I could do was continue to read and re-read what I had written down in efforts to not skip any part of what I had planned to speak about. So in this case, preperation was a key in over comming any anxiety.
Another story that comes to mind is when I volunteered to do a short presentation for our anual United Way Campaine at Coke. I thought it was just going to be for my peers in the accounting department. When I got to the auditorum, I found it full of people from the whole division. Thankfully, I had assistance from the HR department. This way I could concentrate on provideing the information and they distributed all the materials. Knowing that I wasn't in it alone is what got me through that one!!
