Dear Maria:
Currently we don't have a test, but it is possible to test your genes to find out if you share the same region of the chromosome with HIBM patients. Eventhough it would mean that you are likely to have the gene for HIBM it is NOT a test that you can rely on yet.

HIBM remains a clinical diagnosis for now. The best thing you can do is contact us or come to the clinic. You can call 310-704-1144 to schedule an appointment.
