Subject: Dear Elena, regarding other myopathies

Dear Elena,
There are many different diseases which affect the muscles. These diseases are grouped together as Neuromuscular disorders. Myopathies are diseases of the muscles, neuropathies are diseases of the nerves, and they both can cause muscle wasting and muscular problems.

You can find a somewhat comprehensive classification of neuromuscular diseases at the Neuromuscular disease center

Best of luck
Daniel
