Subject: LIMB GIRDLE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

Hi: I have recently been diagnosed with LGMD and will also be tested for Myasthenia Gravis in a few months. All previous MG tests were negative. I am a 41 mother of 2 boys and am a "stay at home" mom. I used to be an avid Kickboxer and speed walker. Now I can barely get out of a chair without effort. I've been going to UCLA MED CTR. for diagnosis. About how long does this disease take to progress to the point where I may need a wheelchair? I want to know because my life long dream is to hike the rainforests in Costa Rica or The Amazon. I know, it's weird, but I need to know the info so I can start planning. Also, is there any diet that could help this? Thanks in advance for any info. I can get. - Janine
