The door to his temporary quarters slid shut behind Cephis, sealing him in the room.
"I somehow doubt the prince would like me around during a talk with daddy..." he muttered, then tossed himself onto the cot. The constant shaking of the massive engines on the dropship made true rest nigh-on impossible, but it had been quite some time since Cephis had been on anything resembling a bed. He hardly even noticed.
His arm moved onto the left side of his rib cage, responding to an itch, and his hand pulled back with a faint spot of blood on it.
"That bastard Lans must have nicked me...not too bad." he mused as he checked for other minor wounds.
[i]If anything, having Lans in the heart of the Empire would be amusing to an insane degree, if not profitable. It would be nice to see what happens once reality or disillusion set in on either the good knight or the prince.
[i]Speaking of the prince, where did he get that sort of power? Summoning demons is bad enough, but being in good enough shape to talk after doing it? That's something special. I'll have to ask Jonathan next time I get the chance...oh, how I look foreward to THAT. Perhaps he might bother to clean up after his rituals for my next visit. [e]
A sharp knocking on his door brought Cephis out of his internal monologue. Rising from the bed in a fluid motion, he gripped the hilt of his sword with one hand, and opened the door.
A tall Guardian stood in the hallway, his arms crossed over his chest, his face grim, just like every other godamn soldier, in the Empire or in the Rebelion.
"Prince Marcius will see you now, Sir." he said crisply, then pivoted and strode down the hallway. Double checking his sword, Cephis walked after him.
