Thought you guys might be interested in hearing something wonderful that John did recently. Our 8 year old son was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, in Oct., 2001, at the age of six. He went through 42 weeks of chemo and six weeks of everyday radiation, numerous surgeries, and was declared in remission as of Sept., 2002. He recently relapsed with a tumor in the same location, on February 27, 2003. John found out about Connor and also found out that he is a HUGE Dukes of Hazzard fan. He called Connor this past Tuesday, April 1, (no, it was not an April Fool's joke). He really gave him a good pep talk, and lifted his spirits tremendously. He even gave him his phone number in case he needed someone to talk to. What a great guy!!! A friend of ours arranged the call, as well as a police chase, with Connor in the General Lee, and a patrol car much like from the Andy Griffith Show in hot pursuit. Connor said, all in all, it was the best day of his life! Thank you, John, for putting a smile back on our sweetheart's face!
