*she mounts the bay filly and warms her up carefully at the walk. Dream yanks on the reins impatiently and bucks irritatedly. Hannah smacks her with the whip as punnishment and Dream squeals angrily and gives another buck. This time Hannah is more prepared and she yanks the filly's head up and spins her in a quick circle. Dream snorts angrily but obediently walks forward, still yanking on the reins. Hannah sighs. the filly was definitely not a Dream Come True today. Hannah lifts her hands a little more and gently squeezes her into a trot. Dream trots 3 strides, then shoots into a gallop. again, Hannah turns her into a tight circle until she is under control again, then makes the filly trot several figure 8's before she dismounts and lounges her at the canter. Dream gallops around Hannah, bucking and snorting for 15 minutes before she finally settles down. then Hannah remounts her and trots and canters her. Dream still fights for her head, bucks and tries to take off, but soon gives in and canters quietly. Hannah praises her and dismounts, then leads the prancing horse back to the barn. "How was she today?" Saddle asks. "She feels a little too good, i had to get off and lounge her for a long time today, she was a bit too energetic" Hannah tells Saddle. "Thats ok, babies have thier days, especially track babies" Saddle tells her. "Put her away and then you can try out Missy" Saddle continues. "ok" Hannah agrees. she untacks Dream, hoses her off and turns her out. She brings Missy back up from the pasture. she had ridden the mare a few times before and the mare was a very nice horse to ride, but she had only worked her lightly between foals, never really worked with the mare. She grooms her black coat and tacks her up. the mare stands quietly in the crossties and patiently waits for Hannah to be ready. Saddle and Hannah walk out to the jumping ring and Hannah mounts the mare. she cues her to walk and the pretty black horse instantly responds. Her strides are long, fluid and even and she easily reaches down to the bit. Hannah walks, trots and canters the mare in both directions, then Saddle sets up a low crossrail. Hannah points the mare at it and Missy shoots into a gallop and jumps the 2' fence like it was 5'. Hannah circles her and slows her down. "Wow! she can jump!" Hannah exclaims, shocked. "Yeah, she can. If you feel ok with her i'll put the fence up to 3'6. she behaves a bit better going over that height" Saddle tells Hannah. "Alright, can't hurt" Hannah agrees. she makes Missy stand while Saddle adjusts the fence height, then canters the mare up to the fence. Again, Missy gallops up to it and springs over it lightly, then instantly slows to a jog afterwards. "She was trained to rush jumps, then slow right afterwards, but if you give her a firm half halt she'll take the fence at the speed you ask for" Saddle tells Hannah. Hannah tries the fence again. This time she gives Missy a few firm half halts and Missy keeps to an easy canter. She lightly hops over the 3'6 fence like it wasn't even there and smoothly canters around the ring. Hannah rubs the mares neck and slows her to a trot, then a walk and takes her down to the trails to cool her out. then she brings her back up to the barn, hoses her and turns her out. "So, did you like her?" Saddle asks. "I loved her, shes a nice horse to ride" Hannah replies. "Ok, then shes yours" Saddle tells Hannah. "Really? Thanks Mom!" Hannah exclaims. "Your welcome" Saddle replies.*
