I walked into the barn, and up to Practiclly Perfect's Stall. I decided it was best for Jesse to start on somebody he knew. I dilly-dallyed around the barn. Then I heard a car pull into the lot, and back again. I stood my ground as Jesse entered. "Hi! Welcome to Shining Meadow Stables!" I greeted. Jesse greeted me back, and we walked up to Perfect. I showed him how to tack up, and we walked into the arena. I helped him tighten the girth, and measure hum stirrips. I taught him how to hold the reign, and to sqeeze to make Perfect go. He was on his 6th lap around on the lunge line, when I told him to trot. He didn't know what to do of coarse, so I smiled and walked up to him. I told him to squeeze inward with his legs, so she would know to go faster. He did ok on the sitting trot, so I showed him posting. Everyone has trouble with this at first, so we just practiced more and more. Then I told him to walk Perfect for awhile. "You did great!" I said. Jesse proudly smiled, and we did some trotting again. Ashley and Sammy, my two girls, walked into the arena, and took a seat, watching me and Jesse. It was almost time for the lesson to end. We did a little of the sitting trot, and then I taught him how to dismount. I watched him carefully as he brushed Perfect's sweaty body. I even helped him out with the mane and tail. I also taught him some un-mounted things, such as about the horse, caring and feeding. I introduced him to my family, and then heard Susan's car pull up. I grettted her, and watched as she and Jesse drove toward home again. "BYE!" I yelled. What a great lesson.
