Once again, Darci and Jonathon walked into SMS with there horses, Jazzy and Thunders. I led them to the grooming stalls again, since it was only their 2nd time being here for lessons. I also showed them where the tack room was, so they could get saddle for the lesson. Darci and Jon found the brushes easily, and brushed down Jazzy and Thunders. When they were done, I watched them carry Saddle1, and Saddle 3 out to the grooming stalls where their horses were patietly waiting. They tacked up Jazzy and Thunders to what I would give an A+! I smiled down at the children, and followed them out to the arena, filled with jumps and obsticle coarses where they would jump and practice today. As I sat in the chair to give the commands, Darci and Jonathon walked to the middle of the arena, tightening the girths, walking around to make sure they were tight, and measuring their stirrups. When they finally mounted, I watched as they calmly walked around the arena. Like regular ponies though, Jazzy and Thunders already tried yanking the reigns out of the riders, but Darci and Jon seemed to laugh, so I laughed in with them. Ashley and Anna came into the arena to watch to, so they ploppped into the seats next to me, and grinned at the riders taking a lesson. "Shorten up and go into a posting trot!" I called. The ponies trotted at a perfect pace around the arena, keeping their heads still, and being aware of any more commands givin to them by the rider herself. I nodded as Darci squeezed Jazzy, telling him he needed a promter trot. I saw Jon do the same thing, so I complemented them saying "Great job of keeping them going guys!" The riders grinned at me, and trotted on. They seemed flawless, but I knew that not a single rider was. They made riding look easy! But, in the middle of the trotting session, I saw Jon on the wrong lead. I told him to correct it as he went by. When he looked down and sat for two more beats, I smiled and knew he had done the deed. He was on the correct diagnol now, so I let them go around just a little longer, and then commanded "HALT!" The riders pulled back on the reigns, halting their horses in due time. "Walk on" I then said after they had halted. I had a hard time finding flaws in these riders today, so I smiled. That was good. Wasn't it? After they had walked around the arena yet a few more times, I told them to go into a sitting trot. I saw they were posting a little, but not to much. I reminded them, and then they stopped doing it. After an almost perfect standing trot session, I told them to bring the ponies down to a walk, and cool the horses down a little. They were round a few times when they cantered. The bumped and bounced in the saddles as the ponies carried them around the arena. "HALT" came the words out of my mouth. The ponies halted with riders on top. The riders reversed diagnols, and then prepared to jump. I warmed them up over tortting poles and caveletis first, and then urged them over 2' jumps. The jumps were Xs at first, but they then went over coarses that had gates and fences in them. They had a few mistakes over the coarses, but it went just fine. They jumped up to 2'6, and then dismounted. The riders groomed the ponies, and brought them out to their trailer again, I waved as they left having done a good lesson.
