Date Posted: 18:10:49 12/12/02 Thu As ususal, Susan dropped Jesse off at Shining Meadow Stables, and he walkedo over to the grooming stall where his horse would always be. I led him to the stall, and saw that he looked sort of amazed. I laughed and introduced Jesse to my horse, Chester. I showed Jesse where Chester's tack was and watched him as he slowly put it on. Then, I led Jesse, who was leading Chester oout to the arena where he mounted and started to walke around the arena for a little. I let the rider and horse go around for about 5 minutes and then instructed them to go into a posting trot. I watched as Jesse flawlessy went into a trot. He shortened up his reigns and slowly posted up and down in the saddle, He also sat down deep when he came down. He still needed a little help on the posting though. Chester was breathing veruy hard after awhile, so I told Jesse to bring him down to a walk to cool him off. Minute after minute, Chester caught his breath and was ready to trot again in no time. This time, I told Jesse to sit deep into the saddle, no posting or anything. Also known as a siting trot. He tended to post just a little, but barely any. He also needed to work on keeping his heels down more often. After about 15 more minutes, Chester was huffing and puffing again. Jesse brought him down to a walk like I told him to and he walked Chester around the arena again. After a while more, both horse and rider were ready for action, I let them trot one more time, and they both kept the same content. Later, Jesse was dismounting Chester and they walked back to the grooming stall. I showed him where Chester's tack went again and I showed him where the treats were. Jesse gave CC a bit of some treats and also brushed him down well. After Jesse left, I cleaned the stable for the next lessons. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
