Subject: Irish Civil Rights website Plan

Agreement in principle emerged last weekend to create
an Irish Civil Rights website. The website will not be
associated with any political party or partisan grouping, and will be non-sectarian, and anti-racist. It will
uphold, respect and advocate the non-violence
principles of the movement, worldwide. This can best
be achieved by exposing the root causes of violence,
while endeavouring to point towards more positive and
peaceful remedies e.g. direct political action via
popular mobilization, with all that such entails.

The initiative will be undertaken essentially by the
October Fifth Association which, for some years has had a secure base, a www.voy.com forum, e-mail address and is linked on the Internet to several broad campaigns. It is hoped to bring together LINKS with similar organisations, essentially in Ireland, but others which are Irish-related, overseas.

A great deal of planning has yet to be undertaken, and
this may take some time. It is hoped that a press
statement will be released to the media within the
next month, and that a "Letter to the Editor" mail-shot will eventually appear, thoughout Ireland. Hopefully, the
project should thus attract a truly national, as opposed to a mere local or provincial input.

Ideas, written contributions, photo stills, videos,
related speeches/book titles, obituaries, etc are now cordially invited via

oct5th_vets68@hotmail.com

Messages of support would be welcome, especially from
other civil rights' veterans, at home and abroad. No financial donations are invited or required for this project, merely your active imput, or moral support. However, please inform other individuals, or groups, who may be interested in this venture.

We thank you all for your kind attention to this
posting.
