I started with this book: Training Lead Dogs, by Lee Fishback. It's got lots of information.
I run with one dog and a push scooter in and urban environment and my dog loves it.
It takes some time to train and a lot of running on the part of the trainer if you follow Fishback's advise but the rewards are well worth the effort.
Good luck!
