First, I do not know the nature of your child's disability or age but this could be very dangerous. At lest consider a helmet, prudent for all child involvement with sled dogs, and a quick release maybe similar to those used by Skijourers.

The carts used by racers or recreational teams are either home built or commercial. Carts can be steel (Risdon is a good source), or aluminum (in the east most are using Chambers who when out of business over a decade ago, used ones are available). Site down carts are available from out west.

Team and Trail is a publication from New Hampshire that has most available carts (gigs) listed from manufacturer ads.
